Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Athletics and Cleveland Clinic Sports Performance named Jenna Werking as the director of sports performance recently.

Werking earned a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Illinois State University. She is certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Special Population Specialist and USA Weightlifting and is a published author in the National Strength Coaches Association Journal.

“We are so excited to welcome Jenna to the CVCA family and feel very fortunate to have someone with her credentials and background working with our student-athletes,” Royals athletic director Jon Young said. “We were grateful that this job drew a lot of interest and Jenna emerged as the best fit to lead our teams in pursuit of excellence in the weight room.

“Jenna has a strong desire to impact CVCA student-athletes and coaches and will be a wonderful addition to our team.”

Werking’s experience includes work as a strength and conditioning intern at UNLV, an NSCA Strength and Conditioning assistantship at the Nellis Air Force Base and as a personal trainer in the private sector. Werking will oversee the sports performance program at CVCA and will be working with both in-season and out-of-season athletes throughout the year.

For Werking, she sums up her experience from a certain verse in the Bible’s Book of Timothy.

“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things.”

“I am very excited and blessed to be a part of the CVCA community and its Christ-centered mission,” Werking said. “I am looking forward to partnering with each coach and athlete in pursuit of enhancing athletic performance, while fostering lived-out commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Let's Go Royals.”
