Stow-Munroe Fall's Dalen Stovall, 8, grabs Hudson Luke McLaughlin after a reception during a game last fall.

Dalen Stovall is set to enter his senior year at Stow as a University of Toledo football recruit.

Stovall, who is 6-foot-3 and 197 pounds, pledged to play wide receiver for the Rockets. He also plays defensive back for Stow.

“This all came together from, first off, hard work,” Stovall said. “You have to put the work in to get where you want to be. Also, with the help of my coaches and teammates my plan came together.

“Toledo is the right fit because I like the culture they have there, I love the coaches and I just felt comfortable and it is best for my future.”

Stovall chose Toledo over other scholarship offers from Kentucky, Akron, Kent State, Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Bowling Green, Liberty, Ball State, Youngstown State and Buffalo.

“Dalen is a wide receiver with great hands. He high-points the ball and is an outstanding individual of high character,” Stow coach Tom Phillips said. “He is a playmaker and strong for his length. He has great upside. ... As a cornerback, Dalen is a great bump-and-run corner who understands routes. He has great length, plays well in the air, has good feet and fluent hips.”

Stovall has a 3.0 GPA and has earned two varsity letters in football at Stow.

Stovall totaled 42 receptions for 603 yards and six touchdowns on offense last year as the Bulldogs compiled a 6-4 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the Suburban League National Conference.
