Urges voters to request mail-in ballots 'today'

Missing in all the presidential meism of the current United States Postal Service restructuring and mail-in ballot machinations is the political magic of our being distracted by a personal big issue and our losing sight of a potential major effect upon the essence of our democracy.

This election is not just for our future president. What is not being discussed and reviewed are the thousands of local, county, regional, state, and national reelections which are potentially affected. These include school issues, infrastructure, charter amendments, bond issues, taxes, local and state elections. Voters should request a mail-in ballot today from the Summit County Board of Elections (www.summitcountyboe.gov) and complete and mail that ballot the same day they receive it. Procrastination this year is not an option.
