Theft

Political signs stolen: A Herrick Park Drive man reported Aug. 10 that someone stole a political sign from his yard.

Police said they also received a report Aug. 4 of a stolen political sign at a Barlow Road home.

Breaking and entering

Tools stolen from garage: A Norton Road man reported Aug. 9 that someone stole a chainsaw, an air compressor, an electric trimmer and a cordless drill totaling more than $250 from his detached garage during the previous couple of days. A police report did not say whether there was forced entry.

Criminal damaging

Damage reported at park: A city parks employee reported discovering Aug. 7 that someone caused an estimated $100 in damages to a sign and kiosk at Trumbull Woods Park off Middleton Road.

Other police activity

Helicopter flying low: Police said that after a resident reported a helicopter was flying low in the area of Barlow Road and Stonecreek Way during the early evening Aug. 7, they found no cause for concern.
