Fireworks complaint

Police respond to report: Police said that just prior to receiving a report of someone shooting fireworks in the area of Hiwood Avenue and Lindsey Road at a little after midnight June 27, an officer on patrol heard fireworks going off, but stopped hearing them by the time he arrived at the intersection.

Suspicion

Woman reports park incident: A woman reported that while she was walking across a parking lot toward her car in the Munroe Falls Metro Park at about 9:15 p.m. June 25, an SUV driven by a white male pulled up alongside of her briefly before continuing on. The woman said that as she approached her car, she saw the SUV stopped near it. The woman’s husband, who had become separated from her while they had walked in the park, then rejoined her, she said, and the SUV’s driver drove away.

Theft

Catalytic converter stolen: A Stow woman reported someone stole her vehicle’s catalytic converter while it was in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Ridgewood Court’s 4900 block from June 16 to 18. The woman said she received a $3,000 quote to repair the vehicle.

Man reports rental scam: A Stow man reported June 18 that after he responded to an ad for a rental property in Stow by paying $1,300 for a deposit and first and last month’s rent via a fund transfer app, he discovered the ad was a scam.

Items taken from construction site: A construction supervisor reported June 17 that someone cut the padlock off a storage unit at a construction site in Quail Creek Road’s 800 block and stole a portable generator and 10 concrete curing blankets of unspecified values during the previous few days.

Tools stolen from garage: A man reported someone stole his power saw and a tool box containing miscellaneous tools of unspecified values from his garage in Kenneth Road’s 4000 block between June 14 and 16. A police report did not say whether there was forced entry.

Criminal mischief

Porch struck by eggs: A man reported someone struck his front porch with two eggs in Country Club Lane’s 4500 block during the day June 18. No damage was reported.

Graffiti found on bridge: A Hampshire Road woman reported June 17 that someone spray painted graffiti onto the underside of the Route 8 bridge over Hampshire since the evening before. Police said the Ohio Department of Transportation was notified.

Fraud

Check cashed: A Stow woman reported June 16 that someone cashed a fraudulent check for $1,233 against her bank account in May. Police said they determined that the check was cashed in Pennsylvania. The woman said the bank is investigating, but requested she file a police report.
