Window shattered: A Tanglewood Trail woman reported June 23 that someone shattered her home’s front door window by unknown means during the night. Police said the damage was estimated at $500.
Street sign pulled to ground: A Munroe Falls Avenue man reported he saw someone drive away in a pickup truck from the Munroe Falls Avenue and Stone Street intersection with a strap attached to a street sign that pulled it to the ground at around 12:30 a.m. June 21. The man said the truck’s unknown driver then drove around the block a couple of times before going east on Munroe Falls Avenue. Police said the damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
Vehicle window smashed: An Ohio Avenue man reported June 20 that someone used an unknown object to smash one of his vehicle’s side windows while the vehicle was parked outside his home since the evening before. Police said the damage was estimated at $600.
BB breaks window: A Prior Park Drive man reported June 20 that someone used a BB gun to break one of his vehicle’s side windows while the vehicle was parked outside his home during the night.
Fence and sign damaged: A Plymouth Lane woman reported June 20 that someone damaged a fence behind her home by unknown means during the night. Police said the damage was estimated at $500. Police said they believe the incident was related to an estimated $500 in damage someone caused to a sign in front of the city’s nearby Munroe Falls Avenue water plant during the same time period.
Man fled with phone: Police said they charged an Akron man, 20, with misdemeanor theft after a State Road woman reported he grabbed her approximately $600 cell phone from her hand while they were at her home during the early afternoon June 23, then fled the area with the phone and deactivated it. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.
SUV reported stolen: A Stark County woman reported someone stole her approximately $24,000 SUV from a Munroe Falls Avenue apartment complex parking lot during the evening June 22.
Skateboard stolen: A Roosevelt Avenue man reported someone stole his approximately $200 skateboard while he was in the area of Riverfront Parkway and Portage Trail during the early evening June 22.
Thefts from vehicles reported: Five residents living in the same area reported someone stole items from their vehicles while they were parked outside their homes during the night June 20.
A Joan of Arc Circle man reported a security camera caught images of an unidentified person rummaging through his two vehicles and taking an approximately $600 cell phone at around 1:35 a.m. A Marian Lake Boulevard woman reported someone took her wallet and its unspecified contents from her vehicle during the night. A Harding Road man reported someone took a laptop computer in a bag, nursing textbooks and a knife totaling more than $1,800 in value from his unlocked vehicle. Police said they found the computer bag. A Harding Road woman reported someone took healthcare cards, a store membership card and a bank card from her unlocked vehicle. Police said the bank card was found. Another Harding Road man reported someone took his wallet containing a bank card, four credit cards, driver’s license and other cards. Police said the driver’s license was found and the loss totaled an estimated $30. A police report did not say whether the vehicle was locked or if there were any fraudulent charges made to the credit and bank cards.
Catalytic converter taken: An Americana Drive woman reported June 17 that someone stole her vehicle’s approximately $300 catalytic converter while it was parked outside her home during the night.
Money taken from home: A Sackett Avenue man reported someone entered his home through an unlocked door and stole approximately $800 in cash during the morning or early afternoon June 21.
Items stolen from apartment: A Ninth Street man reported June 21 that someone entered his apartment by unknown means since the day before and stole a drill and knife set totaling around $170 in value.
Man entered apartment: Police said they charged a 23-year-old Macedonia man with fourth-degree felony burglary and first-degree misdemeanor aggravated menacing after an Americana Drive woman reported the man entered her apartment by forcing open a window and threatened her before she fled out the front door during the afternoon June 17. Police said they found the man hiding in a neighboring apartment and he was taken to Cuyahoga Falls City Jail.
Man reported texted threats: A Cuyahoga Falls man reported June 19 that someone sent him several texts threatening harm to his family if he did not pay $1,000. The man said the texts included his address, his wife’s name and several recent photos of his children. Police said they were able to recover two phone numbers the texts were sent from, but were not able to identify the sender.
