Batter up! Tallmadge Little League holds first parade since pandemic
Tallmadge recently held its first parade since the pandemic began, resuming the decades-long tradition of the Tallmadge Little League Parade.
Last Sunday , hundreds of spectators lined Tallmadge sidewalks to watch as Little League players marched from Our Lady of Victory Church, south on North Avenue, around the Circle and up West Avenue to Mac Burleson Fields, also known as "The Hole."
The event was given the go-ahead by Summit County Public Health, and involved social distancing and mask wearing. The event was canceled last year.
"This is a tradition in Tallmadge and it's the spirit fo what we're about," Tallmadge Mayor Dave Kline said. "Watching those youngsters, from the T-ballers to the high school teams who were there to support, it brings back the sense of community like [how] it used to be."
