A 19-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man is facing felony charges after allegedly injuring his 3-month-old child.

A 19-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was charged with felonious assault and endangering children after he called for medics to treat his 3-month-old child Wednesday.

The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department arrived at the man's home around 1 p.m. and took the child to Akron Children’s Hospital. Medical staff determined injuries to the child's brain were caused by mistreatment and contacted city police.

In a press release, police claimed Tyler R. Greer admitted to investigators that he had unreasonably dropped the child multiple times during the past few weeks, which police said matched the injuries reported by medical staff. A search warrant was conducted at Greer’s residence.

The child was admitted for treatment, but its condition was not released.

Greer was released on a $10,000 recognizance bond following an arraignment in Stow Municipal Court Thursday on the second-degree felonies. His case is being referred to a Summit County grand jury.
