Police are asking the public for information on a fatal shooting inside a hotel late Saturday night.

Officers responded to the Sheraton Suites near Front Street and Broad Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a shooting. A 19-year-old man was found shot multiple times and later died.

“The fact is, we believe there was a lot of people at the Sheraton that night who know the victim,” said Cuyahoga Falls police Capt. Todd Shafer said. “We need some of those people to come forward with information.”

Shafer said detectives are still investigating what led up to the shooting. He said multiple parties were being held at the hotel that night, and officers were already at the Sheraton responding to another call.

He said officers did not find an ongoing party as they responded to the shooting, but right now are assuming a party was being held.

Sgt. Mark Enos said Sunday that detectives believe shots were fired from inside the hotel.

Shafer said there were no other reported injuries from the incident.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the 19-year-old man, pending positive identification and family notifications.
