Flash Flood Warning issued in northeastern Summit County, Cuyahoga County

National Weather Service radar shows heavy thunderstorms producing 2 inches of rain per hour in Northeastern Summit County and Southeastern Cuyahoga County.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Cuyahoga County and Northeastern Summit County until 5 p.m.

Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area around 2 p.m. Up to 2 inches of rain have already fallen in one hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Flash floodingof small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas is possible.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Solon, Twinsburg, Macedonia, Broadview Heights, Brecksville, Bedford, Bedford Heights, Independence, Chagrin Falls, Northfield, Reminderville, Orange, Moreland Hills, Walton Hills, Valley View, Glenwillow and Bentleyville.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
