MACEDONIA — A boy escaped injury, but his vehicle was not so lucky, when it was struck by a train at the Twinsburg Road railroad crossing at 1:24 a.m. Thursday, Police Lt. Vince Yakopovich said.

The crossing is currently closed due to construction work by Norfolk Southern Railroad.

“The vehicle went across, past the barricades, got stuck on the track,” said Yakopovich. “The kid got out, the train came by.”

Yakopovich said a police report has not been completed and he does not know where the boy lives and is uncertain of his age, but believes he is 17.

He said charges are pending against the boy.

Additional information was not immediately available.
