Longtime leader at Pilgrim United retiring

CUYAHOGA FALLS – The longtime pastor at Pilgrim United Church of Christ is stepping down after 20 years at the church.

Rev. Kirk Bruce will give his last two sermons June 21 and 28, in the parking lot of the church, which is at 130 Broad Blvd. Both services will start at 10:30 a.m.

“Our members would love to give him the recognition he deserves, not only as our minister, but also as a valued community member,” said Kathie Richards, a longtime member of the church. “He has been very engaged over the years in the life of Cuyahoga Falls, serving as an emergency Chaplin at the Western Reserve Hospital, Police Chaplin for a time, and helping in times of stress with counseling high school students.”
