Tallmadge graduate Phillip Glasser, a sophomore on the Youngstown State University baseball team, has been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the 2020 season.

The teams were voted on by the conference's faculty athletics representatives.

Glasser, a member of the Blue Devils’ 2017 Division II state championship team and 2018 state semifinal squad, was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2019 after starting 48 games at shortstop.

He batted .291 with a team-high 16 hits while starting all 14 games at shortstop this season, which was cut short due to a deadly respiratory tract infection known as the coronavirus. His 16 hits ranked sixth in the league, and he was named Horizon League Batter of the Week on March 2. Glasser has a 3.95 grade point average as a business economics major.

To be eligible for All-Academic Team consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team, have completed at least 24 semester (or 36 quarter) hours at their institution and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2.
