Emma Kurtz, a 2017 Hudson graduate, had a stellar sophomore season as a member of the Auburn (Alabama) University equestrian team.

She participated in both the flat and fences; competitions and earned the following honors: first-team All-American for fences; second-team All-American (flat); All-Southeastern Conference (fences and flat) and first-team Academic All-American.

After claiming both the SEC and National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championships in 2019, the Auburn Equestrian team finished undefeated for the second consecutive year. The Tigers finished No. 1 in all national rankings and also were named SEC Champions in 2020.

Kurtz is a member of the hunt seat team, competing in both flat and fences. She was a top-ranked junior rider, earning multiple championships at The Devon Horse Show, Capital Challenge Horse Show, Pennsylvania National Horse Show and Washington International Horse Show.

In addition, she earned top-10 placings in all of the equitation finals, including a win at the 2016 North American Equitation Final.

Kurtz is a finance major in the honors college at the Auburn University Harbert School of Business where she holds a 4.0 grade point average.
