Seven Hudson residents competed at the "Magic Classic" meet last Saturday and Sunday in Orlando.

The athletes train at Flytz Gymnastics in Cuyahoga Falls. The competition featured gymnasts from all across the country, along with the United Kingdom, including Wales, and Barbados.

Xcel Gold gymnast Hailey Benoit won the all-around competition with a score of 36.3 points after placing first on vault (9.65) and the floor exercise (9.275) and second on the balance beam (9.375).

Sydnee Sherman, who also is an Xcel Gold gymnast, finished second in the all-around competition after capturing first on the floor (9.375) and third on the beam (nine). Benoit and Sherman helped their Xcel Gold team to a second-place finish.

Mckenna Monroe won the Level 3 all-around competition with a score of 36.5. She placed first on vault (9.425) and the uneven parallel bars (9.175), second on the floor (9.15) and third on the beam (8.75).

Olivia Mager and Quinn Gerbick fared well in the Level 3 competition, as well.

Mager captured second on vault (9.625) and Gerbick finished second on the beam (8.8).

Amanda Whelan took second in the Level 6 all-around competition with a score of 37.075. She placed first on vault (9.375) and second on the bars (9.175).

Also representing Flytz was Level 8 gymnast Emily Plone, who finished second on the beam (9.425).
