The Tallmadge boys bowling team won an 18-team Division I sectional title Friday at Stonehedge Entertainment in Akron.
The Blue Devils finished with a score of 3,840 to advance to district play, which is scheduled to take place Feb. 22 at Stonehedge. Bowling is set to begin at noon.
Also qualifying were Akron Springfield (3,840), Medina (3,756), Cuyahoga Falls (3,692) and Akron Archbishop Hoban (3,626).
Three Tallmadge bowlers rolled series of 600 or better. As a result, they had the top three scores at the tournament.
Robert Wilson led the way with a 664 series. He rolled games of 211, 226 and 227, respectively.
Josh Parry was next with a 655 series (234, 238 and 183) and Patrick Stachowiak rolled a 641 series (170, 234 and 237).
Also competing for the Blue Devils were Parker Braccio (186, 161 and 175), Kaiden Cantiberos (201) and Gavin Warren (158).
The Tallmadge girls finished second with a score of 3,350. Norton won the 15-team competition with a score of 3,628.
The two other teams that advanced were Cuyahoga Falls (3,153) and Brunswick (3,052). The girls’ district competition is scheduled to take place Feb. 23 at Stonehedge. Bowling is set to begin at noon.
Kirsten Moore led the Blue Devils with a series’ high total of 624 (214, 211 and 205). Morgan Cool was next for Tallmadge with a 450 series (141, 157 and 152).
Rounding out the scores for the Blue Devils were Isabelle Hall (141, 145 and 148), Makayla Legg (155 and 150) and Florence Drayer (142).
