The host Hudson wrestling team earned a 37-25 victory over Suburban League crossover rival Revere Wednesday at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

The Explorers, who won eight of 14 matches, improved to 7-2.

"This is a tough stretch before the sectional," Hudson head coach Joe Caniglia said. "It was a great team win on senior night."

The Explorers got pins from Carter Morris, who earned a pin in 2 minutes, 45 seconds at 106 pounds; Noah Batcher at 152 (3:12); Josh Brewer at 195 (1:35); and senior Garrett O’Connell at heavyweight (2:56).

Aidan McStay earned a 14-5 major decision at 160 pounds for Hudson. Other decision winners for the Explorers were Ian Krauss at 182 (7-2), Will Davis at 138 (9-5) and Michael Johnston at 132 (5-4).

"I thought Ian Krauss and Josh Brewer wrestled hard," Caniglia said. "They each scored three takedowns. Freshman Noah Batcher had five takedowns on his way to a pin.

"Michael Johnston and Will Davis had some gut-check wins by decisions. They both battled right down to the end and won.

"Carter Morris got things started with a big pin at 106. He scored two takedowns in the match, which was good to see. Aidan McStay scored seven takedowns."
