The Hudson girls bowling team ended its regular season with an 8-6 record after earning a convincing 1,907-1,608 victory over Solon at Roseland Lanes in Oakwood.
Katie Titmas led the Explorers with a 355 series. She rolled games of 161 and 194, respectively.
Natalie Gilles was next with a 295 series (123 and 172) and Ariana Ellis had a 284 series (154 and 130) for Hudson.
Also competing for the Explorers were Mary Ramsey (161), Ariana Darden (143) and Julia Karman (143).
"We bowled on a more challenging oil pattern that will be used for sectionals and districts," Hudson head coach John Brockway said. "Considering the difficulty of the shot, I think we did fairly well. The girls bowled about their average for the year."
The boys team finished 6-9 after losing a 2,255-2,097 decision.
Logan Loeffler led the way for the Explorers with a 362 series (147 and 215). Brock Miller was next with a 345 series (150 and 195) and Trey Grega rolled a 312 series (155 and 157) for Hudson.
Others who bowled for the Explorers were Mason Schmidt (145 and 158) and Java Berger (116 and 157).
The match may have been decided after the first game. That’s because the Comets took a commanding 900-713 lead.
"The boys really struggled in game one, but they bounced back in the second game and the Baker games," Brockway said. "Hopefully, we got the bad game out of the way so we don’t have one at sectionals."
Both teams are scheduled to compete in Division I sectional play Saturday at Roseland Lanes. Bowling is set to begin at 11 a.m.
