The eighth-seeded Aurora ice hockey team’s stay in the Baron Cup II tournament was short-lived, as it fell to top-seeded Amherst Marion L. Steele 6-1 Monday at John M. Coyne Recreation Center in Brooklyn.

The Comets scored the lone goal in the first period and then added three more in the second period. Junior Cameron Mullin scored the lone Greenmen goal in the third period with assists from senior Jack McElwee and junior Nolan Sullivan, but the Comets responded with two more goals to secure the victory.

Jacob Kramer led the way for Steele with four goals and an assist.

Sullivan made 38 saves in net for Aurora, which fell to 16-13 overall.

Brady Grove made 20 saves in net for the Comets, who improved to 22-4.
