The host Hudson ice hockey team concluded its regular season with a commanding 7-1 victory over host Cleveland Heights Saturday at the Cleveland Heights Community Center.

With the win, Hudson improved to 16-11-1. The Explorers finished 6-5-1 in the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Red Division.

Hudson raced out to a 3-0 lead and didn’t look back.

Luke Karnofel had a huge game for the Explorers. He finished with four goals and two assists.

Matt Hannon added a goal and two assists and Sully Clark and Andrew Yard each scored once.

Ty Koerbel finished with three assists and Jack Divine added two assists for Hudson. Mack Clark also had an assist for the Explorers, who outshot the Tigers 37-21. Hudson goaltender Nick Tomasulo made 19 saves.

The Explorers received the fourth seed at the Baron Cup I Tournament, which is scheduled to take place at the John M. Coyne Recreation Center in Brooklyn.

Hudson is set to play fifth-seeded Cleveland Benedictine Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Mentor received the top seed and Rocky River and Strongsville got the second and third seeds, respectively.
