The Aurora boys basketball team suffered a 62-44 loss to host Twinsburg in a Suburban League crossover showdown Saturday.

The Tigers outscored the Greenmen 36-22 in the second half.

Anthony McCarthy led Twinsburg (13-6) with a game-high 20 points and Ken McElrath scored 15 points for the Tigers. Dante’ Yarbrough added 14 points for Twinsburg, which forced 16 turnovers with its relentless pressure defense.

The Tigers had some turnover issues of their own as they lost the ball 18 times. In the end, though, Twinsburg had more depth and was far more dominant on the glass. The Tigers had a 36-20 edge in rebounding.

Johnathan Ugran led Aurora (4-13) with 11 points. Just two of those points took place after the first quarter.

Logan Keilin finished with 10 points and Gabe Elsway had nine points. The Greenmen’s leading scorer, Ethan Hays, scored just seven points due to Twinsburg’s stifling defense.
