The Tallmadge boys and girls swimming and diving teams competed at the Akron Division II sectional competition Friday.

The boys finished 17th with a score of 24 points. Rocky River won the 22-team competition with 278 points. Aurora placed second with 248 points and Canfield took third with 225 points.

The girls finished 20th with 21 points. Copley won the 24-team competition with 294 points. Bay Village Bay was the runner-up with 264 points and Akron Archbishop Hoban captured third with 251 points.

Jack Markley led the Blue Devils with a sixth-place time of 58.55 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. He also placed 13th in the 200 individual medley (2:20.02).

Also faring well for the Tallmadge boys was Nikolas Archer, who finished 14th in the 100 backstroke (1:02.85).

Hannah Fiume led the girls with a 15th-place clocking of 1:17.74 in the 100 breaststroke. Teammate Angelina Norris placed 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:11.89).
