The host Hudson ice hockey team improved to 15-11-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Red Division after earning a 5-4 victory over Chagrin Falls Kenston Friday at Kent State University Ice Arena.

The Explorers raced out of the gates to a 4-0 lead before the Bombers scored two unanswered goals.

Luke Karnofel made it 5-2 in the third period off an assist from Ty Koerbel. Kenston scored two goals in the final six-plus minutes, but it was not enough. Hudson outshot the Bombers 38-23.

Karnofel finished with two goals and Mack Clark had a goal and an assist for the Explorers.

Burke Villenauve and Andrew Clark also scored for Hudson. Koerbel and Sully Clark each had two assists and Mack Clark and Alex Cole had one assist apiece for the Explorers.

Hudson goaltender Nick Tomasulo finished with 19 saves.
