The Hudson boys and girls bowling teams competed at the Rootstown Rover Sectional Preview tournament Saturday at Spins Bowl Kent.

The boys team finished ninth with 3,716 pins. Nordonia won the 14-team competition with 4,318 pins and Kent Roosevelt (4,200) and Tallmadge (4,155) took the next two spots.

Mason Schmidt led the Explorers with a 581 series. He rolled games of 215, 166 and 200, respectively.

Brock Miller was next for Hudson with a 569 series (211, 166 and 192). Teammate Zach Ream bowled a 534 series (182, 206 and 146) and Logan Loeffler rolled a 499 series (176, 156 and 167).

The girls team finished 12th with a score of 2,866. Norton won the 14-team competition with 3,633 pins. Boardman (3,618) and Akron Archbishop Hoban (3,562) and Uniontown Green (3,553) took the next two spots.

Ariana Ellis led the Explorers with a 463 series (144, 151 and 168). Hudson’s Katie Titmas wasn’t far behind her teammate with a 461 series (136, 138 and 187). Also bowling three games for the Explorers was Natalie Crider (165, 145 and 128).
