TALLMADGE — After a humbling defeat to a Suburban League National Conference powerhouse three days earlier, the Aurora girls basketball team was looking for a fresh start.

Let’s just say it was as fresh as a daisy.

The Greenmen continued their Suburban League American Conference mastery by routing host Tallmadge 68-32 Saturday at James O. Maddox Court.

Aurora (10-4, 7-0) opened the game with a 19-4 run and didn’t look back. The Greenmen made sure the ball didn’t stop moving for much of the way and got plenty of open shots throughout the afternoon.

Sophomore guard Ava Ryncarz was the main beneficiary of Aurora’s passing clinics. She drained all four of her 3-pointers during the run.

The Greenmen also got a scintillating performance from junior point guard Shyanne Sellers, who gave her teammates numerous open looks, thanks to her passing skills.

Sellers scored a game-high 20 points and dished out assist after assist to overwhelm the Blue Devils (9-7, 4-4), who have lost two straight games. Sellers added nine rebounds and three steals in three quarters of work.

Ryncarz finished with 12 points and senior guard Dylynn Lasky and sophomore guard Mika Dalton each scored eight points for Aurora.

Although she struggled with her shot, thanks to the Greenmen’s blanketing defense, senior guard Lizzie Bickar led Tallmadge with nine points. Freshman guard Maya Dexter added seven points and senior forward Jill Catalano grabbed seven rebounds for the Blue Devils.
