Hudson residents Allison Whelan, Olivia Mager, Charlee Skeen, Sydnee Sherman, Hailey Benoit, Isa Dooley, Paula Uzcategui, Avery Willis, Analeigh Lawrence, Lily Hammerstrom and Carys Melfi, who are members of the Flytz Gymnastics team in Cuyahoga Falls, competed in "The Cup" gymnastics meet, which took place Dec. 13-15 in Cincinnati.

Whelan, a Level 6 gymnast, placed third on the balance beam with a score of 9.175 and helped her team place second.

Mager, a Level 3 gymnast, had a sweep. She finished first on vault (9.4), the bars (8.975), the beam (9.125) and the floor exercise (9.3) to take the all-around title with a 36.8.

Her Level 3 teammate, Skeen, captured second on the beam (8.4). Mager and Skeen also helped their Level 3 team to a win.

Sherman, an Xcel Gold gymnast, placed third on vault (9.3) and on the floor (9.5). Her teammate, Benoit, finished second on the beam (9.075).

Willis, an Xcel Silver gymnast, captured first on the beam (9.525) and second on vault (9.25). Lawrence, an Xcel Silver gymnast, placed first on the floor (9.4) and the vault (9.525), second on the bars (9.5) and third on the beam (9.35) to win the all-around competition with a 37.775.

Hammerstrom, also an Xcel Silver gymnast, finished first on the bars (9.6) and the beam (9.45) and second on the floor (9.125) en route to a first-place 37.125 in the all-around competition.

Dooley, an Xcel Silver gymnast, captured second on the beam (9.25). Uzcategui, an Xcel Silver gymnast, placed second on vault (9.25) and third on the beam (9.35).

Flytz’s other Xcel Silver gymnast, Melfi, finished second on the bars (9.625).

Thanks to these efforts, Flytz team won the Xcel Silver team competition.
