The Hudson girls and boys swimming and diving teams competed at the 2019 Jim Stacy Winter Championships Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.

The girls team dominated the 20-team competition with 1,045 points. Mount Lebanon, which makes its home in Pittsburgh, finished a distant second with 724 points and Perrysburg took third with 323 points.

The boys team finished third with 476 points. Bexley St. Charles Preparatory easily won the 25-team competition with 824 points and Mount Lebanon was the runner-up (484).

The girls team set four meet records.

Mackenzie DeWitt set a meet record with a time of 54.95 seconds to win the 100-yard butterfly. She also set a meet record with a time of 56.53 seconds in the 100 backstroke.

Paige McCormick nearly won the 200 freestyle by six seconds as she sawm a meet-record clocking of 1:50.71.

DeWitt and McCormick also joined Gabrielle Loring and Carrie Caniglia on the first-place 200 freestyle relay team, which set a meet record with a clocking of 1:36.24.
