The Tallmadge wheelchair basketball team improved to 6-1 after cruising past GlenOak Saturday in Plain Township.
The Blue Devils led 22-10 at halftime. Isaiah Johnson led Tallmadge with 15 points and nine assists and Brennan Heavilin score eight of his 14 points in the first quarter. Riley Murphy contributed six points for the Blue Devils.
"We have been a fast-starting team all season and have led at the end of the first quarter in all our games and we followed that same recipe," Tallmadge head coach Thomas Linder said. "Isaiah Johnson was really distributing the ball well and Brennan was working hard to get open on the low block. They are our version of [John] Stockton and [Karl] Malone. They run the pick and roll very well.
"It was another team effort and the team is really playing very sound fundamental basketball. They set screens, they switch on defense and they communicate well.
"Courtney Kirsch turned in a very solid defensive game and Cory Michael had a couple of blocked shots. Emma Allen and Ben James had great games on both ends of the floor. Shataeya Patton was solid as usual on defense. Rory Murphy had some key rebounds and fourth-grader Iyad Yasin got the opportunity to play in his first game."
