The Hudson girls basketball team had its best defensive effort of the season Wednesday evening.
The host Explorers improved to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Suburban League National Conference after cruising to a 49-25 victory over North Royalton at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Hudson scored the last nine points of the second quarter to take a 24-9 halftime lead.
Ali Menendez scored a game-high 17 points, which included an 8-of-9 performance at the free throw line.
Anastasia Lawler scored 11 of her 13 points in the first eight minutes. Lawler drained three 3-pointers in the opening quarter.
