The Hudson girls and boys swimming and diving teams bumped into an old friend.

Solon, which used to be a formidable rival when the two squads competed in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division, welcomed the Explorers to town Saturday.

When the meet was completed, the Comets’ reception may not have been quite as warm and fuzzy toward their former division rivals.

They were more likely to say this: Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Hudson made smashing debuts Saturday after cruising past Solon. The girls team rolled to a 228-86 victory and the boys squad earned a convincing 187-125 win.

The following Explorers placed in the top three in their respective events and the following Hudson relays won.
