Two senior Tallmadge softball players signed to continue their athletic careers in college Wednesday.
Shortstop/catcher Jordyn Severns is planning to play at Ashland University and catcher Kennedy Rorar has decided to play at Tiffin University.
Severns batted .330 with 34 hits, seven doubles, four triples and two home runs. She also scored 26 runs and drove in 20 more in 2019.
Severns earned honorable mention to the Suburban League American Conference team in 2019 and is a three-year scholar-athlete. Severns earned first-team All-Northeast District and first-team American Conference recognition as a sophomore and second-team all-district honors in 2017.
Rorar batted .368 with 35 hits, six doubles, three homers and two triples. She finished with 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Rorar is a two-time scholar-athlete who earned second-team American Conference honors the last two seasons. She also was the team’s Offensive MVP in 2017 and 2019 and was an Ohio High School Fast Pitch Softball Coaches Association scholar-athlete during the spring.
