Coming off a last-minute victory the previous week over Stow-Munroe Falls, Nordonia football looked to carry the momentum forward into Friday’s game at Brecksville-Broadview Heights.

However, any momentum the Knights gained was swamped by a swarming Bees offense.

Brecksville put up 503 yards of total offense and scored touchdowns on all but one of its drives, as it scored a 53-30 win over the Knights.

Brecksville ran for 351 yards in the win, while quarterback Joe Labas went 17-of-23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns for the Bees.

Nordonia’s offense played well in the loss, but couldn’t quite keep up with the Bees’ onslaught. Quarterback Billy Levak went 16-of-32 for 246 yards, one touchdown and interception, as well as rushing for one touchdown.

Knight running back Sal Perrine ran for 91 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

Nordonia dropped to 3-5, 2-3 in the Suburban League National Conference. The Knights will look to rebound in their final home game next Friday at 7 p.m. when they host Cuyahoga Falls.
