After its devastating loss to what turned out to be the Suburban League National Conference champion, the members of the Hudson girls soccer team has been salivating for another opportunity.

What opportunity is that? Another crack at Stow-Munroe Falls, the 2019 National Conference champion that scored three goals in two minutes to stun the Explorers 3-2 earlier in the season.

They will get their chance.

Fifth-seeded Hudson smashed 12th-seeded Bedford 9-0 in a Solon Division I sectional semifinal game Monday at Hudson Memorial Stadium.

With the win, the Explorers are scheduled to visit the fourth-seeded Bulldogs in a sectional title match Thursday at 7 p.m.

Against the Bearcats, Tori Liesen scored a season-high three goals and Demi Gutierrez scored twice. Maddie Coates added a goal and an assist and Lauren Pacsi, Abby Kern and Katia Ikhlef scored once.

Ava Eismon, Ally Campanella and Kierstin Havens each had one assist for Hudson, which had a 15-0 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
