It was more or less a tune-up for the upcoming postseason.
But it sure was a huge boost of confidence for the Hudson boys soccer team.
The host Explorers ended the regular season in spectacular fashion with a convincing 3-0 victory over Suburban League American Conference champion Copley Saturday at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
With the win, Hudson, the top seed in the Solon Division I sectional-district tournament, improved to 9-4-3.
Jarrett Widdoes led the way with a goal and two assists and Graham Alvarez and Ben Hallis also scored for the Explorers. Pete Strawbridge added an assist.
The Indians had an 8-6 edge in corner kicks. Hudson had a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks. Explorers’ goalkeeper Matt Kaminski made eight saves.
