Prior to the 2019 season, Stow-Munroe Falls seemed to have a hex on the Hudson girls volleyball team in recent years.
Not any more.
The host Explorers completed a season sweep against the Bulldogs after cruising to a 25-18 25-16, 25-15 victory Tuesday at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Hudson also defeated Stow in three sets earlier in the season.
"I’m really proud of our focus and our energy and standing up to the challenge that Stow presented to us," Explorers head coach Brad Disandis said. "Rivalry games are always nerve-wracking and Stow fought really hard.
"I have a lot of respect for their coach, but we played really well. It was another total real effort as we passed the ball well, played great defense and swung aggressively all night."
Brooke Ramlow finished with 13 assists, 13 digs, seven kills and two aces and Amelia Hoffmeier contributed 37 digs and four service points for Hudson.
Morgan Gaeta finished with 21 digs, five kills and two aces and Anna Faust had 18 digs and 11 service points, including three aces.
Also faring well were Allyson Yanak (seven digs, six kills and a block), Page Gross (six kills and six blocks), Rylyn Dearstine (six kills and two blocks) and Melissa Hansen (16 assists and two digs).
