It won’t take the tough loss off its résumé.
But it was a very good way to recover.
Two days after seeing its 26-match Northeast Ohio Field Hockey League winning streak end, the host Hudson field hockey team cruised to an 8-0 victory over Kent Roosevelt Thursday at Hudson Memorial Stadium.
With the win, the Explorers improved to 9-2 overall and 8-1 in the league. Hudson’s win took place some 48 hours after losing to host Shaker Heights 2-0 Tuesday.
Thursday was a much different story for Hudson, which led 6-0 at halftime.
Reese Stiller scored twice and added an assist and Hanna Killeen finished with one goal and three assists.
Katie Moloney finished with one goal and one assist and Kaci Ramlow, Marita Johnson, Brooke Buchanan and Reilly Timko scored once.
The Explorers had a 33-3 advantage in shots on goal and 13-0 edge in corner kicks. Hudson goaltender Sadie Mrakuzic stopped all three of the Rough Riders’ shots.
