The Western Reserve Academy girls soccer team improved to 6-3-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the Tri-County League with a 1-0 victory over Cardinal Mooney Wednesday at the Youngstown State University Soccer Field.

Megan Hovan scored on a 40-yard shot that sailed over the Mooney goalkeeper’s head. Five freshmen played quality minutes for the Pioneers, who had a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal and a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.

Reserve goalkeeper Sophia Bluso made five saves.
