For much of the season, the Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team endured much hardship.

If a match was close, it seemed like the Pioneers were destined to lose.

But such things are ancient history now. As a result, surging Reserve has now won five in a row.

Host WRA improved to 6-10 in 2019 after earning a 3-2 victory over Pepper Pike Orange Monday.

Hannah Ma (6-0, 6-2) and Chelsea Dodson (6-3, 6-2) earned wins at second and third singles, respectively, and the Pioneers’ first doubles team of Pritam Garcha and Rowena Ge (6-4, 7-6) also triumphed.
