The host Tallmadge boys golf team improved to 4-3 in 2019 after earning a 184-188 victory over Streetsboro Monday at Brookledge Golf Club in Cuyahoga Falls.

Darin Hudak shot a 37 to earn medalist honors for the Blue Devils. He set a new school record for scoring average (36.1) in nine-hole matches. The previous record was set by Danny Mosholder (37.4) in 1999.

"That's quite an accomplishment considering some of the great golfers we've had at THS over the years," longtime Tallmadge head coach Jon Shomo said.

Rounding out the team scoring for the Blue Devils were Ty Kester (48), Kasen Frisbee (49), Logan Phillips (50) and Nate Boyd (50). Frisbee and Boyd made their first varsity starts of the season.
