The Hudson girls volleyball team made an emphatic statement when it topped former state champion Brecksville-Broadview Heights on its home floor last month.
Let’s just say the Explorers weren’t too fond of the rematch.
Hudson dropped to 12-5 overall and 5-4 in the Suburban League National Conference after losing to the host Bees 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 Tuesday.
Brooke Ramlow had nine assists, five digs and four service points, including an ace for the Explorers. Morgan Gaeta contributed nine digs, five service points, including an ace, three kills and a block and Page Gross finished with six kills, five service points, including two aces, and two blocks for Hudson.
Also having a strong all-around match for the Explorers was Melissa Hansen (14 assists, four service points, including two aces, and two digs).
Others who fared well for Hudson were Amelia Hoffmeier (37 dig and four service points, including an ace); Rylyn Dearstine (five kills and four blocks) and Allyson Yanak (six kills).
"We definitely did not give our best effort [Tuesday]," Hudson head coach Brad Disandis said. "Hats off to Brecksville. They play well and we couldn’t seem to find a way to match their energy. A disappointing loss but there is no doubt we will bounce back, as we have been playing really good volleyball."
