The Tallmadge girls tennis team finished in a tie for sixth place in the American Conference at the Suburban League Tournament Saturday at Highland High School in Granger Township.
The Blue Devils and Kent Roosevelt both scored 14 points. Highland won the seven-team competition with 39 points and Revere (33) and Aurora (32) took the next two spots.
Tallmadge, which finished 1-5 in conference matches during the regular season, finished sixth in the overall standings with 5 ½ points.
The Hornets won the overall competition with 16 points and the Greenmen and the Minutemen finished in a tie for second place with 13 points apiece.
Anna Siesel finished fifth after earning an 8-2 victory over the Magics’ Emma Ondrus at first singles for the Blue Devils.
Tallmadge’s first doubles team of Claudia Palmer and Marley Queen finished sixth after losing to Barberton’s duo of Hope Fetherston and Amelia Sebe 8-4. Palmer and Queen reached the fifth-place match with an 8-4 win over the Rough Riders’ team of Jenna King and Payton Courtney.
