The Hudson girls volleyball team’s stellar season continued Saturday.
The Explorers won all three of their matches to capture the Perry Tournament. Hudson defeated Parma Normandy 17-25, 25-23, 25-23 in the title match.
The Explorers also defeated previously unbeaten Warren Howland (27-25, 25-20) and Cortland Lakeview (25-16, 25-16).
There was some terrible news for Hudson (12-4) heading into Saturday’s tournament. Senior right-side hitter Cailynn Sullivan suffered a broken tibia and fibula and will miss the rest of the season.
"We have had a very emotional 24 hours as a team," Explorers head coach Brad Disandis said. "The girls really pulled together for Cailynn’s sake and won three matches against some very good competition.
"We could not be more proud of the girls for how they have faced this adversity head on. We love Cailynn so much and she will be missed on the court, but we know that her leadership will help us push through."
Brooke Ramlow led the way with combined totals of 39 digs, 36 assists, 17 service points, including four aces, 13 kills and four blocks.
