The Aurora girls cross country team placed 17th with 464 points in the 35-team Division I race at the Boardman Spartan Invitational Saturday.

North Allegheny, Pennsylvania, won the competition with 124 points and Massillon Jackson edged Shaker Heights on a sixth-runner tiebreaker. Both teams scored 154 points.

Brunswick’s Emily Bardwell finished first out of 278 runners with a time of 19 minutes, 6.4 seconds. Mikayla Jones led the Greenmen with a 74th-place clocking of 21:15.1.

Victoria Blechschmid was next for Aurora in 85th (21:26.9).

Rounding out the top five for the Greenmen were Grace Barto (98th, 21:41.1), Stephanie Lubin (104th, 21:46.5) and Karsen Zabell (105th, 21:47.8).
