It was a rough start for the Western Reserve Academy volleyball team.

It sure was beautiful the rest of the way, though.

The host Pioneers improved to 2-9 in 2019 after earning a 18-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-21 victory over Willoughby Hills Cornerstone Christian Academy Thursday at the Murdough Athletic Center gymnasium.

Allison Weinzierl led Reserve with seven kills and four blocks and Sydney Grossman had six kills and five blocks. Amie Ly finished with three blocks.

Ananya Chetia contributed five assists and Natalie Ham had four digs for WRA. Also faring well for the Pioneers was Lauren Wiggam, who had six aces.
