The Tallmadge volleyball team’s hopes of winning a Suburban League American Conference championship took a huge hit Tuesday.

All the Blue Devils can do at this point is take care of business the rest of the way.

Thursday was a good start.

Host Tallmadge earned a convincing 25-21, 25-12, 25-20 victory over Barberton at James O. Maddox Court.

Amelia Perdue had a strong all-around match for the Blue Devils (7-2, 3-2). She finished with 23 service points, including six aces, and 16 assists.

Sydney Kirker was Tallmadge’s top enforcer in the front row with 11 kills and Kelsie Horner contributed 11 digs. Katie Seeker added three blocks for the Blue Devils.
