As recently as five years ago, a girls golf match between Tallmadge and Wadsworth would have probably been considered a colossal mismatch.

Not only is Wadsworth a considerably bigger school than the one located on North Munroe Road, but the Grizzlies also have a pretty decent tradition the links.

It looks like the tables have turned rather dramatically. The Blue Devils took down the mighty Grizzlies Thursday.

Host Tallmadge improved to 4-3 in 2019 after earning a convincing 174-197 victory over Wadsworth at Sunny Hill Golf and Recreation in Kent.

Lizzie Bickar led the Blue Devils with a 37 to earn medalist honors. Hannah Fiume had the second lowest score with a 42 and Gia Currey had the third lowest score with a 44 to seal the win for the Blue Devils. Also contributing to Tallmadge’s team score was Chloie Brown (51).
