The Hudson boys golf team finished eighth with a 36-hole total of 656 at the 15-team Kiely Cup, which took place Sunday and Monday at Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood.
Columbus Academy won the competition with a 618. Dublin Jerome (619) and Lakota East (620) placed second and third, respectively.
Lakota East’s Joe Wilson IV earned medalist honors with a 144 (72 and 72).
Coop Pamer led the Explorers with a 162 after finished both rounds with a score of 81. Ben Basta was next with a 163 (82 and 81) and Burke Villenauve shot a 165 (85 and 80).
Erik Block rounded out Hudson’s team score with a 166 (83 and 83).
"It was a nice bounce back for us after poor showing at Pfeiffer." Explorers head coach Dave Kurtz said. "We scored lower at Canterbury, which is a much tougher course and has a higher par than at Windmill and Twin Lakes."
