In nearly each match, the youthful Twinsburg girls golf squad continues to illustrate improvement in a variety of ways.

The latest sign of Ashley Plassard's team showing growth came at the third Suburban League Tournament at Ellsworth Meadows Saturday.

Plassard, who is in her first season as the Tigers’ head coach, saw that improvement at the league tourney by finishing third out of eight teams in SL's National Conference.

"Sophia Sayavich shot a team low score of a 95 at our third Suburban League tournament at Ellsworth Meadows," said Plassard.

"Our team score was a 393, finishing third in our division behind Hudson and Stow," said the coach.

Stow-Munroe Falls won 361-384 over the Explorers while Twinsburg beat the likes of North Royalton (402), Brecksville (407), Wadsworth (410), Nordonia (412), and Cuyahoga Falls (514).

Sayavich, who is a junior, was outstanding on the Hudson course and placed sixth overall in the tourney.

Tyler Gliba and freshman Lyndsey Stephens each carded a 97 for the Tigers. Audra Rosenthal added a 104.

The Tigers will compete at the Medina Tournament Thursday at 1 p.m.

Twinsburg recently posted its lowest score to date for nine holes with a 184 Sept. 3 against Streetsboro.

It was a match against the Rockets that featured the final home match at Gleneagles for veteran seniors like Nia Fuentes, Rosenthal, and Gliba.
