The Aurora boys cross country team finished fourth with 145 points at the 29th annual Bruce Lerch Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School.
Woodridge easily won the 26-team competition with 31 points. The Bees were the runners-up with 100 points and Brunswick took third (123).
Matthew Singleton led the Greenmen with a first-place time of 16 minutes, 14.9 seconds, which was more than 20 seconds faster than the second-place runner. A total of 202 runners competed.
Andrew Ploskunak was Aurora’s second runner with a 17th-place clocking of 17:31. Rounding out the top five for the Greenmen were Jack Deptola (35th, 18:25.4), Samuel Siedel (39th, 18:27.5) and Mikah Snitzer (55th, 18:44.4).
