The host Western Reserve Academy volleyball team finished fourth at the six-team WRA Invitational Saturday at the Murdough Athletic Center gymnasium.

The Pioneers picked up their first win of the season. Reserve (1-9) posted a 25-20, 25-21 victory over Akron Kenmore-Garfield. 

Sydney Grossman had seven kills for Reserve and teammate Allison Weinzierl had six assists and two blocks.

WRA lost to Willoughby Andrews Osborne (25-26, 25-23), Lyndhurst Brush (25-19, 25-15) and Fairview Park Hearts for Jesus Christ (25-19, 25-7).

Shaker Heights Laurel won the competition and Brush and Hearts for Jesus Christ placed second and third, respectively.
